Review: Dirty Laundry

Dirty Laundry
Dirty Laundry by Heidi Cullinan

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoy this book. Apparently is an extended version of a free short story that I totally missed.
Adam, is a very interesting character, there is so much to learn about him. He suffers from both OCD and clinical anxiety, making his life a little bit more complicated that the rest of us.
He is describe as shy and geeky, but most of his shyness and awkwardness is due to his insecurities. And not on himself, but the insecurity that comes from having OCD and anxiety controlling his life.
It doesn't help that he had a brat for ex-boyfriend, who instead of helping him with his tics he used them to make him feel even more like a freak, like someone who couldn't stand up for himself.
When he meets Denver, he not only meets a savior, he also meets a Dom.
One that will help him overcome his insecurities, letting go and passing the control over those voices to Denver.
The BDSM elements used here show a different type of dynamic between the MCs, it was a very enlightening read. The way Denver uses his Dom voice not only to pleasure Adam but also to help him take over his fears. Showing him that by letting go and losing control he is actually controlling them through Denver.
Finally learning that Denver is not absolutely flawless adds to the charm. I love alpha males such as Denver, but I also enjoy seeing them as a little less than perfect.
Louisa is a great supporting character, one that was under develop, there is much more to her than what we saw.
Highly recommend it, Heidi Cullinan is a must read on my list.
